May – A good month for RecycleForce!

What a month! May has been an exciting month at ReycleForce.

We were awarded a $200,000 grant from the EPA; we partnered with Cook Medical in Bloomington, IN for a community E-Waste disposal day that resulted in over 250,000 pounds of recyclables; we announced that we’ll soon be building our new $10 million facility; we began entering data into our recently deployed Salesforce platform to improve our ability to serve our employees and improve efficiency across the all areas of service and business. And, Thanks to Key Bank we’ve activated our electronic shredder, The BEAST.

Whew!

Besides all of these great things, ReycleForce was featured in a recent Atlantic article (see article below) about an interesting idea to find a job for every American. Its a radical idea, but recently the idea has found a few champions on Capitol Hill.

“When you have the kind of societal abundance that we have, if you’re willing to work, you should have a shot at economic stability and the American dream. We do not believe we should leave people behind to the ravages of unemployment and poverty.” – Senator Cory Booker

It’s a very interesting idea and the Atlantic piece is also a good sign that our nation’s leadership is realizing that social enterprise organizations like RecycleForce can play significant and important role in supporting an entire segment of our nation’s population (the formally incarcerated) with job training, work experience, and finding a good job. We know, from experience, that these services not only help the formally incarcerated stay out of jail, they also have a direct positive impact on public safety and community development.Thank you for your continued support.
