Indianapolis, IN – On June 23, 2022, RecycleForce was awarded a $2 million Growth Opportunities Grant from the US Department of Labor in the initial round of grant funding to support programs that provide job training and supportive services to justice-involved young people.

Administered by the department’s Employment and Training Administration, the Growth Opportunities grant program provides paid work experiences to young people affected by community violence, particularly in areas of concentrated crime and poverty. The funding also supports skills training as well as employment and mentorship services.

“We are excited for the support from the United States Department of Labor,” said RecycleForce President and CEO Gregg Keesling. “This program that will serve young people 18-24 is important for our community. Those we will serve need employment and training to be able to find their way in our strong labor market and this grant will assist us to do just that. Nothing stops a bullet better than a job!”

RecycleForce is actively accepting referrals, and all interested should contact our Youth Program Manager, Mr. James Conway, jconway@keys2.org.

Since 2006, RecycleForce has safely recycled over 100 million pounds of electronic waste while providing job training to thousands of returning citizens. This makes a positive impact on the environment, local and state economies, communities, and the lives of hundreds of formerly incarcerated men and women along with their families.
