An old Roman philosopher once said, “luck is what happens when preparation meets opportunity”. According to this saying, the month of July has been a lucky month for RecycleForce!
While our partnership with Keys to Work and the Indianapolis Department of Public Works (DPW) is moving forward and helping to move dozens of panhandlers off the streets and into meaningful employment, our grant writing team has been working diligently to secure funds vital to our reentry programs – their preparation has met a number of funding opportunities.
RecycleForce has been awarded a $100,000 Lumina Foundation grant that will help us provide credentials and training for our most marginalized populations. We are very happy to know that the Lumina Foundation is realizing the merits of our efforts to meet people where they are with their training and credential needs.
The US Department of Labor has awarded our organization a $1.5 million Reentry Projects (RP-3) grant! These funds will enable us to support, train and employ 190 new clients. We want to thank Congressman André Carson for his continued involvement in our mission and for submitting a letter of support to USDOL on behalf of RecycleForce.

On July 17th, Mayor Joe Hogsett and the Office of Public Health and Safety awarded RecycleForce with a $60,000 Community-Based Violence Prevention Partnership grant. Four other Marion County based nonprofit organizations received funds to help address violent crime in our community.
Thank you,
