The November edition of The Report includes interviews with Andrew Cooper, a RecycleForce client, and Andrew King, our current Inventory/Quality Control Director. Both interviews shed some light on two issues we experience every day – the costs associated with home detention and recycling of plastics. I hope you enjoy both interviews.
Mr. McGuire, in the movie The Graduate, told a Benjamin Braddock (Dustin Hoffman) that he had just one word to share with the young man, “plastics”. Apparently, the whole world took stock in Mr. McGuire’s single word of advice because plastics are everywhere.
Every day we hear news stories about islands of plastics floating in the Pacific Ocean and micro-plastics in the bellies of shrimp. A recent study in Germany sounds the alarm on dangerous levels of plastics in children’s bodies.
Many of us know we need to do something about the mixed blessing of plastics. We recycle our plastic bottles and use reusable sacks when we go to the grocery, but no matter how much we try to keep plastics out of our landfills, streets, and waterways, plastics continue to litter our planet.
At RecycleForce, we recycle tons of plastic every year; however, plastics contaminated with food waste and other non-recyclable materials do find their way into landfills. As you will learn in Andrew King’s interview, we have found a partner, Brightmark Energy, who will convert the plastics that would normally end up in a landfill into its original form – oil. Their oil can be converted back into new plastics, industrial products, and fuel.
The partnership with Brightmark Energy is very exciting. Not only will this partnership create a better process for recycling plastics, RecycleForce will be able to attract new suppliers of recyclable materials. This means more revenue, and more revenue means we can counsel, train, and prepare more returning citizens for the workforce.
I have more news for you, but you will have to wait. Next week we will have a major announcement about this invaluable partnership with Brightmark Energy.
Please visit our website and to arrange a tour of our facility and see firsthand how RecycleForce is changing lives, bolstering public safety, and supporting our local economy.
Thank you,
